(F)our is for You

(F)our is a project from 4 young photographers choosing a picture from each other’s. Federica Nuzzo, Bea De Giacomo, Jukka Reverberi and Marco Trinchillo met on the web. This is what I call real trust: people that never met before, decide to start working together. (F)our is a 36 pages zine published by Dinosaur Books.
(F)our is an exhibition during La Settimana Della Fotografia in Reggio Emilia.
Federica, Bea, Marco and Jukka will finally meet each other during the exhibition opening c/o Appartamento Famiglia Nuccini (yes, a real house!). Days: 2nd/3rd May. Enrico Grigoletti

Together Through Life: 1959 Troubles

Together Through Life: 1959 Troubles

Here’s the latest inspiring video from Bob Dylan, “Beyond Here Lies Nothin’”: this time many b/w photographs from Bruce Davidson’s “Brooklyn Gang” series are edited to show the life of “The Jokers” during the summer of 1959. This gang of Teddy Boys and Girls were captured in their everyday-life habits. Davidson wanted to have them in their natural places, from street corners to the borough’s Coney Island amusement park. There’s no narrative needing, only the necessity to let you know this “seductive border-café feel”. E Lusso

We’ve got Tonight

We’ve Got Tonight

Alexander Martinez received a BA in Anthropology at San Francisco State University in 2007.
When he’s not busy shooting for Hamburger Eyes, he shoots his friends and, since friends are one of the best thing in the world, he makes zines full of intimacy and every day life moments. Just like “We’ve got tonight”.

Gossip: “Music For Men” is next

Gossip: “Music For Men” is next

Beth Ditto’s band – intrusive voices says her look is displacing towards goth – had finally decided to give a name to the brand new album, just recorded with the giant producer Rick Rubin (the one who brought back Johnny Cash to the old glories). The ironic title of the album will be “Music For Men” and it will be out by the 22nd of June. Beth said: “There’s a shit-load of love songs in there. Writing down the tracklisting, we had about 14 songs and seven had the world ‘love’ in the title. I had no idea. I was so romantic”. Few days before the launch you’ll find the single “Heavy Cross”, but before that time, enjoy Beth Ditto beautiful face on last Dazed&Confused cover!

Jean Francois + Darryl Rodrigues = AMICA!

Vivid color and almost surreal landscapes are distinctive of Jean Francois Lepage work, that’s what make him one of the most recognizable photographer on the scene! He shot 14 pages with stylist Darryl Rodrigues on the May issue of Italian Amica, where they both got inspired by the “must-pieces” of the season.

Harbour Boat Trips Copenhagen by Trentemoller

Harbour Boat Trips Copenhagen by Trentemoller

tommasotoma_trentemoller

Danish producer Trentemøller is set to release “Harbour Boat Trips – Copenhagen” next month, his first foray into the realm of the mix CD. Following in the vein of his 2006 Essential Mix, Anders Trentemoller has composed a 21 track blend of the producer’s time honoured favourites, spanning four decades of music. Made up from a healthy slab of artists native to Copenhagen, the mix also manages to field appearances from Emiliana Torrini, The Raveonettes, Beach House and Alan Vega.
A floor-facing DJ set this ain’t. The album will be the first in the Harbour Boat Trips series for the nascent HFN label who have decided upon a decidedly watery theme for their mixes: A selection of “outstanding artists” will be invited to commit to disc their musical interpretations of a particular harbour and its surroundings with the hope of capturing something altogether more poignant than your standard DJ mix.
